Ring size guide

Practical guidance for choosing, wearing and keeping jewelry.

Find your ring size with confidence.

A jeweler’s ring sizer is the most reliable starting point, especially for an expensive, wide or non-resizable ring. Measure the intended finger at normal room temperature; fingers can change size during the day. Check that the ring can pass comfortably over the knuckle without feeling loose at the base.

  • Use a ring that fits the same finger. Measure its internal diameter across the center, excluding the metal; compare with the size chart for the product you are buying.
  • If using a strip of paper as a first estimate, mark the overlap without stretching or tightening it. Measure the marked length in millimeters. Repeat at different times and do not treat a single paper measurement as a guaranteed fit.
  • A wider band often feels tighter than a narrow band of the same size. Ask about the fit of the specific design and whether resizing is possible before ordering.
  • Sizing systems differ between regions. Confirm the system used by the product; do not transfer a number from a different country without conversion.

This table is a reference for an initial estimate. Manufacturing tolerances, band width and comfort-fit profiles vary. The product-specific size chart and a professional fitting take priority.

Choose a chain, bracelet or gift that fits.

Measure a necklace length on the wearer or a similar chain. Pendant position depends on neck size, neckline and pendant weight; an extender changes the available range, not the listed base length. For a bracelet, measure the wrist and compare with the product’s stated fit allowance and clasp style. Do not add a fixed allowance to every style.

  • Check the dimensions and weight, rather than judging scale from a close-up product photograph.
  • For a surprise ring, use a ring worn on the correct finger or ask discreetly; a guess can be costly on a design that cannot be resized.
  • Choose one meaningful detail: a month, an initial or a date. Confirm spelling and whether the recipient likes the selected finish.
  • For children’s jewelry, check the listed age suitability, size and safety guidance. Jewelry with small components is not a toy; avoid wearing it during sleep or unsupervised play.
